Salawat: Greater Than the Freedom of Slaves

Hawzah News Agency- Imam Ali (pbuh) said:

الصَّلَاةُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ أَمْحَقُ لِلْخَطَايَا مِنَ الْمَاءِ لِلنَّارِ، وَالسَّلَامُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ أَفْضَلُ مِنْ عِتْقِ رِقَابٍ.

Sending blessings (salawat) upon the Prophet (pbuh and his family) erases sins more thoroughly than water extinguishes fire; and sending greetings upon the Prophet (pbuh and his family) is better than freeing slaves.
